    State of the City

    There's a lot of press around Mount Vernon these days. They're camped out all around City Hall, and hardly a day goes by that Mount Vernon isn't making local or, even, national news. I wish I could say all this attention is for a good reason, but I cannot. The reason for this column, however, is not to dwell on the negative circus going on in and around City Hall these days, but to reassure you that the work of your government is getting done.
